Face shading practice

Description

PLease don't say anything about the rest of the drawing's horrible colouring and sketchiness. I know it sucks, but this was an exercise in face shading.

After a very helpful critique on the request art i posted yesterday, i decided it was time to better my face shading. So, if you have any constructive criticism to steer me in the right direction, it would be very helpful. (i hope this is much better than yesterday's picture in the facial shading respects.)

I've been looking up some tutorials and giving them a readover, but i think i need to find more, as i don't have access to an actual art class and art teacher to help me.

The guinea pig for this testing turned out to be Telenei, a naruto fanfiction character i created like...3 years ago...she's still one of my favourites though...

Wow >///< Didn't expect you'd care that much about that comment...

Well, this looks way better than the other, but I think perspective helps here. This girl's face is looking more at... Not sure how to say it xD It's looking "at the viewer", so most problems with volume are more easy to solve. Yesterday's work had a (Dunno if this is well-writen, tell me if is not understandable) three-quarters perspective much harder to work in.

Oh, and an excellent illustrator told me once: "Something important to give volume to faces are in the eye sockets and cheekbones's shadow". It worked well with my drawings, so hope it helps you.
